Young Children Priority #1 |
Implement projects to children, prenatal to age five, to address
maternal and child health, child care, early development, nutrition,
parenting education and support, advocacy, pediatric trauma, or
safety. Projects may include encouraging literacy, assisting child
care and Head Start, distributing home-safety checklists, education
public about shaken baby syndrome and building or repairing
playgrounds. urvey community leaders, health department, etc to
identify unmet needs. IDD world service project. Read around the

Youth Services |
Lynn Jones
Manage Terrific Kids program, or projects to school-aged youth,
addressing academics, advocacy, career exploration, character
education, citizenship, club activities, health, hobbies, leadership
development, literacy, mentoring, prevention of drug abuse, or sports
and recreation. Screen requests for support or donations and make
recommendation to board. |

Sponsored Youth |
Develop ties and joint activities with Key Club, Builders Clubs, etc.
Coordinate pancake day with Key Club.Attend Key Club meetings.
Welcome and introduce Key Club members attending Kiwanis Club meeting. |

Scholarship |

Determine scholarship recipients, amounts, etc. Plan and conduct
scholarship night, program speaker, etc. |

Human and Spiritual Values |
Charles Link
Schedule members for invocation each week. Plan and conduct pastor's
night, speaker, etc. Implement projects that support spiritual
development, provide human companionship and comfort, or offer
counseling and guidance. Encourage interfaith and interdenominational
religious activity, such as prayer, but should not support a specific
religious sect. Prayer breakfasts, layman of the year award,
transportation to religious services, visits to nursing homes, and
support of grief counseling. |

Line up members to provide interesting programs organized on calendar
theme. Written confirmation in advance and Thank you notes afterwards
to speakers. Provide schedule of speaker topics to Klarion to promote meetings.

Schedule members to lead songs at each meeting. Provide name of
leader to president in advance. |

Public Relations |

Inform press of newsworthy Kiwanis activities, new officers, awards,
goals, etc. Line up coverage for pancake day. |

Fellowship |
Recognize members who in the news, receiving special recognition,
etc. Plan an outing for Kiwanians and their families. |

Reception |
Bill Craig
Schedule members to greet, particularly new members Provide name
badges for guest. Make list of guests for president before call to
order. Encourage members to buy split the pot tickets. |

Set up and take down supervision.Have prize for speaker

bell around Christmas time. |
